Event Details

Carter Strang was a student at Kent State when the events of April 30-May 4 unfolded on the campus of the university.  Using photos and video footage, Mr. Strang describes the days leading up to the shooting by National Guard that killed 4 students and injured 9 others.  

Mr. Strang is a long-time Shaker resident and former Shaker High School teacher and coach.  He earned a law degree at Cleveland-Marshall and has worked as a litigation partner at Arter & Hadden (’84-’03) and Tucker Ellis (’03-present.) He is past President of the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association Northern District of Ohio Chapter. He serves on the Kent State Honors College Advisory Board and was the recipient of the 2014 Kent State Distinguished Alumni Award.
