Shaker Library, the City of Shaker Heights and the Shaker Schools present the Columbus Crossing Borders Project at Main Library. The project explores the refugee experience through the work of 34 artists and a documentary by Ohio filmmaker Doug Swift.
Participating artists took inspiration from stories shared by refugees to create original works that “cross borders. Each painting contains an element that reaches into the painting beside it and what emerges is a bigger, more beautiful outcome resulting from a community of artists working together.
The exhibit is open from 9 am to 8:45 pm on the Main Library second floor.
A 50-minute documentary, “Breathe Free,” by Ohio
filmmaker Doug Swift will be shown at 6:30 pm and again at 7:30 pm.
