Shaker Heights Public Library partners with the James A Garfield National Historic Site to present Women in the Civil War: Soldiers, Spies and Saints. Often portrayed as holding down the homestead while the men fought, more than 400 women across the Union and the Confederacy are estimated to have been actively involved in battle and espionage in the war between the states. Join volunteer Andy Curtiss to learn more about these lesser-known participants and how they affected the Civil War.
Because this is presented over Zoom, please register with your email address so we can connect you to the meeting. You will receive a Zoom link to the program after you register.
